The Apple TV app is now officially released on Roku. The app is now available for download from Roku Channel Store. Apple TV+, Apple’s new online streaming service is launching on November 1 and ahead of its availability, the tech-giant has made the Apple TV app available for Roku.
This Apple TV app allows the users of Roku TV to stream 4K iTunes purchases. Apart from this, the users will also be able to stream out Apple TV Channels and Apple TV+ Originals on Roku devices with this new Apple TV app.
If we talk about the compatibility of this app, then the company has said that the Apple TV app is compatible with Roku Streaming Stick and Roku Ultra-Set top box. The same app is not supported by the older Roku devices. If you are using years older Roku device, then you might not be able to install and use this app.
Apple TV app is free to download from the Roku’s store. Once installed, you can sign in to the app using your Apple ID. All the purchased items from iTune including videos, movies and other contents can be streamed in 4K resolution.
The same app will serves as the home app for the Apple TV+ streaming service once it is available for public.
Interestingly, the Apple TV app launched in many reasons and is already available for download. If we talk about the availability of this app, then Apple TV app is released in the United States, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and the United Kingdom countries as of now.
The same app will be made available for more countries in the coming months. Since Apple is all set to launch its streaming services in the global market, the company is making its Apple TV app available to non-Apple devices.
The aim behind making this app available and compatible to non-Apple devices is to attract the new users for their subscription services. The Apple TV+ subscription will start from $4.99 per month from November 1st.
