Apple Teams Up with Eli Lilly to Determine Whether iPhone and Apple Watch Can Detect Dementia


Apple Watch is becoming like your personal doctor who always there by your side. Apple has recently partnered with a Pharmaceutical and health startup company named Eli Lilly for a new venture.

Apple and Eli Lilly both will detect whether the data collected from iPhone and Apple can determine the early sign of Dementia. The company has also shared its initial setup and how they are working on this project. CNBC has released full information and report shared by Eli Lilly on this.

As per the published research, Apple and Eli Lilly working with a health startup evidation, “to find ways to more quickly and precisely detect cognitive impairments like Alzheimer’s disease with the help of popular consumer gadgets.”

There are five Apple Employees and Five Eli Lilly’s employees working together on this new project. The participants being given all the gadgets of Apple i.e. Apple Watch and Apple iPhone. They also offered Beddit Sleep Tracker. Beddit Sleep Tracker acquired by Apple in the year 2017. This Sleep Tracker device will also be a part of this project.

Researchers have found many positive things during early studies. As per the researchers’ report, “people with symptoms of cognitive decline typed more slowly, typed less regularly and sent fewer text messages than healthy participants.” The researcher has further added that those people are highly depending upon the sources related apps.

To keep an eye on the behaviour of such users and to keep the experiments going on further, they require a lot of studies and have to spend a lot of time. Unfortunately, the study didn’t show up any conclusions instead, it encouraged the researchers to study more on the same.

Researchers have said that further studies and researches are needed to come up with the positive results on this project. The researchers have kept everything secret and denied to show the study results done on the participants.

Apple is working hard to grow its health industry by providing new health-related apps from their devices. The giant has recently rolled out the ECG app worldwide which is now available in many countries across the globe.
