If you have been experiencing some issue with the audio quality of your AirPods Pro, then you are not alone. According to Apple, “a small percentage of AirPods Pro” users may be facing sound issues with their devices.
In a communication on its support page, Apple states that the affected AirPods Pro may exhibit one or more of the following behaviors:
* Crackling or static sounds that increase in loud environments, with exercise or while talking on the phone
* Active Noise Cancellation not working as expected, such as a loss of bass sound, or an increase in background sounds, such as street or airplane noise
Apple is offering free replacement for these AirPod Pro models. The replacement offer is valid on AirPods Pro (left, right or both).
According to Apple, users who think that they are facing similar issues with their AirPods can contact any Apple authorized service provider or make an appointment at an Apple retail store or contact Apple Support.
The teams there will examine the model to verify if it is eligible for this program. Once the issue is confirmed, the affected AirPods will be replaced.
Apple clarifies that there is absolutely no issue with the cases of these AirPods and so the same will not be replaced. “The AirPods Pro case is not affected and will not be replaced,” adds Apple on its support page.
Apple also specifies that this worldwide program does not extend the standard warranty coverage of the AirPods Pro and that stays as before. Apple provides two years warranty on AirPods after the first retail sale of the unit.
