Apple Disables Walkie-Talkie App Due to Security Issues on Apple Watch


Apple is taking a different path and now introduced a new way of communicating on Apple Watch. Yes, the tech giant has introduced this feature with the latest update of watchOS 5. The company has officially disabled the default Walkie-Talkie app from the watchOS due to some issues. However, this new communication feature will offer double the performance of the Walkie-Talkie app.

Apple had received numerous feedback from the users about the vulnerability and other issues with the app. The company didn’t disclose the actual issues on the app; and they have officially disabled it from the watchOS.

Apple has its own official Vulnerability Report Portal where it had received hundreds of reports from the users. The giant was alerted enough and the issues were somehow increasing day by day. To keep things stable, they have introduced a new communication feature and disabled this Walkie-Talkie app.

The Walkie-Talkie app was introduced by Apple with watchOS 5. The app was letting the watchOS users make voice chats directly from the Apple Watch without using a mobile device.

With an immediate effect, the giant has completely disabled Walkie-Talkie app’s services that mean you will not be allowed to use this app until the issues are fixed. The company has further said that the engineers and developers are currently looking into the issues and the fix of this known bugs and issues will soon be made.

Unfortunately, there’s no timeline on the return of this app. However, we will soon get a fully functional and stable Walkie-Talkie app in the coming days. Additionally, the company has also apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers by disabling the Walkie-Talkie app.

The Walkie-Talkie app will be there on your device but with a disabled mode. It will automatically be enabled with the future update. We will let you know once the update is available.
