Apple has started selling Microsoft’s Xbox Wireless Controller via its online store and is now available to buy from Apple.com at $59.95 USD. To make it functional on all the devices, Apple has already added the support for the gamepad in the latest major software updates for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and the Mac.
Apple sells a few different gaming controllers on its website to connect to iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS devices, but as of yet, the company has never directly sold Microsoft or Sony’s own gaming controllers. As of now, the controller is only available online. However, it will be available at local stores starting Oct 14 as displayed on Apple’s website.
Once bought, players can connect the Xbox Wireless Controller to their iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV to play games on Apple devices. Playing all of those titles using the controller you’re already familiar with can make all the difference. Apple is already offering next-day shipping for the Xbox Wireless Controller.
Apart from Microsoft’s controller, Apple also pushed the PlayStation 4’s gamepad support with iOS 13, iPadOS, tvOS 13, and macOS Catalina. However, there is no sign of Sony’s DualShock 4 controller on Apple’s store. So, we can hope to get it soon launched on the Apple Online Store.
