Anthony Mackie’s Prepared for the Carnage in Sweet Tooth

The exciting world of Twisted Metal is making its way to the small screen through a unique adaptation of the beloved PlayStation series by Peacock. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have crafted a vision that promises to capture the chaotic and carnage-filled essence of the games, featuring the iconic characters that fans know and love. The newly released official poster prominently showcases Anthony Mackie as the protagonist, with explosive action unfolding behind him.

Mackie portrays John Doe, a post-apocalyptic courier who combines humor and resourcefulness as he tries to turn his life around. His fortunes change when he encounters Raven, played by scream queen Neve Campbell, who offers him the opportunity to fulfill his deepest desires in exchange for delivering a mysterious package across the wasteland. Along this dangerous journey, he teams up with Quiet, a skilled car thief brought to life by Stephanie Beatriz. The poster highlights their determined expressions, hinting at the thrilling encounters they will face on the open road.

One such formidable adversary is Sweet Tooth, the twisted mascot of the Twisted Metal franchise, also known by his alter ego Needles Kane. This menacing character is portrayed by former AEW Wrestling Champion and Samoa Joe, with the voice talents of Will Arnett from Arrested Development. The poster captures the terrifying chase scene as Sweet Tooth pursues John and Quiet in his eerie ice cream truck, filled with sharp objects.

To accompany this exciting announcement, a visually stunning poster has been unveiled. It features Mackie, Campbell, Beatriz, Samoa Joe, and Arnett in their respective roles, capturing the gritty and intense atmosphere of the show.

Twisted Metal marks Anthony Mackie’s return to television following his acclaimed performance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where he portrayed Sam Wilson. The cast also includes Thomas Haden Church as the deranged U.S. Agent Stone, alongside Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughns, and Lou Beatty Jr. The series has been developed by Michael Jonathan Smith based on the concept envisioned by Reese and Wernick, with Smith serving as the showrunner.

Peacock will release all ten episodes of Twisted Metal on July 27, and fans can expect another exciting glimpse of the series at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. In the meantime, check out the striking new poster below.
