Samsung has officially rolled out the Android Nougat 7.0 update for its Galaxy A7 (2017) and A5 (2017) smartphones in India. The software firmware version for this update is A520FXXUBQI5 and A720FXXU2BQI2 respectively with a file size around 1.3GB.
To recall, both the smartphone was originally launched with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. The new update brings a new user interface design for better user experience as well as features like Dual Messenger and Samsung Pass.
The Android Nougat brings in a bunch of new features including Always On Display, split-screen multitasking, more customisable quick settings, quick setting toggles, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications, and recent applications window, ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps, and ‘Doze on the go’ which will extend battery life. Further more the update brings bug fixes and stability improvements to the smartphones.
As the OTA update is sized around 1.3GB so we suggest you to charge your phone at least 50 percent and 2GB of free space available to run the update smoothly. As is usually the case with OTA roll outs, it may take time for the update to hit your device. So be patient and keep an eye on your notification. Meanwhile you can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.
