Android 14 Beta 4 introduces an option to bypass the ‘enter’ key requirement when entering your PIN

Yesterday, Google released the Android 14 Beta 4, bringing along a host of new features. Among these features, Beta 4 users have discovered a toggle for the ‘auto-confirm unlock’ option. Android researcher Mishaal Rahman was the first to spot this feature.

According to Rahman, this feature allows your phone to unlock automatically when you enter your PIN correctly, eliminating the need to press the enter button. However, Android warns that this method is less secure compared to manual confirmation because it reveals the length of your PIN. Knowing the length of your PIN can make it easier for someone to guess it. For example, if you have a six-digit PIN, someone attempting to break into your phone might try multiple four-digit PINs without success.

If you possess a strong confidence that your PIN cannot be discovered and are currently using the Android 14 Beta version, you can opt to enable this convenient feature.
