E3 2019 press event is on its peak. Many of the tech giants have been unveiling their hardware, games and many other tech products at this event. At this same event, AMD has unveiled the world’s first 16-core Ryzen 9 3950X gaming CPU, Radeon RX 5700 and Radeon RX 5700 XT GPUs.
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
AMD has announced the world’s first Ryzen 9 3950X desktop-class gaming CPU will come with 16 cores and 32 threads. This CPU registers a base clock speed of 3.5 GHz. It can also reach at 4.7 GHz when overclocking the processor. The company also claims that with the help of liquid nitrogen, the AMD Ryzen 9 3950X processor can be pushed up to 5.375 GHz.
Users can use the AMD’s latest Ryzen Master Software utility to tweak overclocking features to boost the performance of the CPU. The Ryzen 9 3950X is based on Zen 2 hardware and operates at a TDP of 105 watts. It has managed to achieve a multi-thread score of 12,167 on Cinebench R20 benchmarking.
As far as the price and availability of the Ryzen 9 CPU is concerned, this will be made available in September 2019 for the price tag of $749 USD.
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, Radeon RX 5700
The Radeon RX 5700 and Radeon RX 5700XT GPU uses a brand new design that AMD is calling RDNA, or Radeon DNA, built on the Navi architecture platform. The base version i.e., the RX 5700 comes with 36 compute units and speeds of up to 1.7GHz. While the top version comes with 40 compute units and can be boosted up to 1.9GHz and support for up to 9.75 teraflops.
The company promises a brand new compute unit building block, improved cache hierarchy, and more efficient graphics pipeline, for 1.25x better performance per clock and 1.5x better performance per Watt than current Radeon RX500-series products. The Radeon RX 5700 series will feature high-fidelity graphics through FidelityFX open source SDK, anti-lag performance and better post-processing.
In addition to both of these GPUs, AMD has also announced a 50th-anniversary edition of the 5700XT, available in unique gold and black, with speeds of up to 1.98GHz.
As far as the price of the GPUs is concerned, Radeon RX 5700 will cost $379, Radeon RX 5700XT will be priced at $449 and the last Radeon RX 5700XT Anniversary Edition will be made available at $499. All of the three GPUs will be made available starting from July 7.
