AMD: AMD launches cruiser and mountain bikes

Chipmaker AMD seems to have branched off into the bicycle-making business, as per a report by GameRant. The company hasn’t announced any new graphics cards in competition to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series but instead, has added its branded bikes to the fan shop. It has added two bikes: The AMD Custom Cruiser and the AMD Custom Mountain Bike. While the Custom Cruiser is gearless and comes with a coaster brake, the Custom Mountain Bike is a more serious contender, with 21 gears, dual-suspension frame and linear-pull brakes. Both can be shipped within the US for $299 with a shipping charge of $50 more extra.
That doesn’t mean the chipmaker doesn’t have anything up its sleeve when it comes to the business it specialises in. The company has teased its next big announcement through an Easter egg hidden in an AMD-themes Fortnite map.
Rival Nvidia some days back introduced the GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. The American chipmaker claims that the new generation comes with “faster 2nd gen Ray Tracing Cores, faster 3rd gen Tensor Cores, and new streaming multiprocessors that together bring stunning visuals, faster frame rates, and AI acceleration for gamers and creators.” The GeForce RTX 30 series graphics card series is powered by Ampere, the company’s 2nd gen RTX architecture.
As per Nvidia, the GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs boast of several world’s firsts. The company claims that they are “the first gaming-class graphics cards with up to 24GB of new, blazing-fast GDDR6X VRAM; they’re the first GPUs with HDMI 2.1, for 4K high refresh rate and 8K gaming; they’re the first discrete GPUs with support for the AV1 codec, enabling you to watch high-resolution streams using significantly less bandwidth”.
