Amazon Launches its First Big-budget Game, a Shooter Called Crucible

Amazon is expanding its gaming space with the launch of Crucible on Wednesday. Crucible is a free-to-play shooting game that features similar gameplay like some popular games like Overwatch, Fortnite, and League of Legends.

This game is remarked as Amazon’s first big-budget game since Amazon Game Studios, the company’s gaming branch that was created in 2012. With the launch of Crucible, Amazon Game Studios is finally changing its routes from the tablet-based games it produced for years to deliver one of the PC titles initially announced in 2016.

Well, Gaming is not the key factor that adds to Amazon’s business. In 2014, Amazon acquired Live-streaming platform Twitch for $970 million which is the only regarded as a big step of Amazon in the gaming industry.

Well, the company has always been focusing on its Prime subscription. This is what Amazon has added Gaming on Prime to attract more users to try Prime as well as expanding the reach of its gaming platform. With this move, the e-commerce giant wants to attract gaming enthusiasts towards its platform.
