Last week, some rumors suggested that Amazon is on its way to launch a free, ad-supported streaming service to its users. And now, those rumors emerge as true as Amazon launches its ad-supported music streaming service today in the US which will be available for echo owners for free.
Today onwards, Echo owners will be able to listen to top playlists and stations on Amazon Music at no additional charge even if they don’t have a Prime Subscription. Amazon says that from today onwards, Echo owners will be able to ask Alexa to play music by creating stations based in a song, artist, era or genre. In addition, the voice assistant will also able to queue up the popular ad-supported streaming services.
In the free subscription of this service, listeners will get a limited music library and will be able to stream from over two millions songs. While the premium subscribers will get access to over 50 million songs but have to pay some bucks on a monthly or yearly basis. The main target of the commerce giant to launch this ad-supported service is to bring their smart speakers again in the popularity.
Apart from this, Amazon announced on Thursday that it has sorted out everything with Google and from now, YouTube will be able to run again on Fire TV. In the same way, Amazon Prime will return back on Chromecast devices
