Mipha, Revali, Urbosa and Daruk will be reappearing in Amiibo form to accompany the release of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Yesterday, out of the blue as Nintendo seems to be doing recently, we got the reveal of a brand new Hyrule Warriors game. Age of Calamity is set 100 years before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and explores the events leading up to Hyrule’s destruction by Calamity Ganon.
If that news wasn’t enough however, Nintendo has another offering for fans and Amiibo collectors alike. Rereleasing alongside Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is the Champions Amiibo set. Like the game, the Amiibo will be released on November 20.

The Amiibo were first released back in 2017, a few months after The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Like many Amiibo back then, the Champions Set became highly sought after and was incredibly difficult to get hold of. It makes sense for these specific Amiibo to get a re-release considering the role that the four champions, Mipha, Revali, Urbosa and Daruk, will play in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
This September is a good month for Amiibo collectors. Alongside the rerelease of the Champions Amiibo, we got the announcement of two new Amiibo as part of the Super Mario 35th Anniversary celebrations. Both a Cat Mario and Cat Peach Amiibo were revealed for a March 2021 release to go alongside the recently announced Switch port of Super Mario 3D World. Alongside new Amiibo, Super Mario 3D World is getting a load of brand new content, in the form of Bowser’s Fury.
Not only have we had the announcement of two new Amiibo and the confirmation of a rerelease of four more, this month sees the release (at least in Europe) of two Amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. Series. The two DLC characters, Persona 5’s Joker and Dragon Quest’s Hero, drop on September 25 in Europe and follow a week later in the US on October 2.
