The public beta of macOS Sonoma is now available, allowing users to download it on their supported Mac devices. With macOS Sonoma, Apple has made iCloud Keychain available for Chrome on macOS. This means that MacBook users can now use iCloud Keychain on the Chrome browser to enter passwords using biometric authentication.
According to a report by 9to5Google, the iCloud Passwords extension for Chrome has been updated to version 2.0.5, and this support extends beyond the Chrome browser. The feature will also work with other Chromium-based web browsers like Microsoft Edge and Arc.
Additionally, the iCloud Passwords for Microsoft Edge on macOS has also been updated to version 2.0.5.
The iCloud Keychain feature allows users to securely store usernames, passwords, and authentication codes, making it easier and faster to log in to apps, websites, and more without having to remember the password. This update makes iCloud Keychain fully compatible with these browsers, just like it is with Safari.
