Yesterday, an exciting announcement was made at Bandai Namco’s Showcase regarding the popular anime Jujutsu Kaisen. A new game, called Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash, is currently in development by Byking and will bring the beloved anime into the world of 3D gaming.
Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash is a 2v2, 3D action brawler, similar to Byking’s previous game, My Hero One’s Justice, which was based on My Hero Academia. While a specific release date has not been disclosed, the game will be available physically and digitally on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. However, it will only be available digitally on PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
According to a press release, Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash is an action brawler where players can form teams using the anime’s roster of Jujutsu Sorcerers and Cursed Spirits. Players can utilize the series’ famous “Cursed Techniques” to unleash powerful attacks in 2v2 combat. The game allows fans to relive the original story and action of Jujutsu Kaisen, in which protagonist Yuji Itadori and other memorable characters defend humanity against Curses in modern-day Japan.
The game features a roster of 15 fighters, including Yuji Itadori, Nobara Kugisaki, Megumi Fushiguro, and Satoru Gojo, as confirmed in the announcement trailer. While the gameplay details regarding the 2v2 combat are not entirely clear, the press release mentions that different character combinations will have unique synergies and power dynamics. Players can increase their fighter’s power level and unlock stronger attacks as they progress through battles. The gameplay appears to be reminiscent of the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series.
