Bandai Namco Announces Limited Tekken 8 Closed Network Test
Bandai Namco has announced a limited Tekken 8 Closed Network Test, and fans can now sign up via the provided link. The post indicates that the participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and that it will be a very limited test.
The test will be open to all platforms starting from July 28th at 10 am until July 31st at 9 am CEST, while PlayStation 5 participants will have an extra weekend from July 21st at 10 am until July 24th at 9 am CEST. Moreover, console players will not require an online subscription service, such as PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold, to join the test.
Introducing the All-New “Heat” Battle System
Furthermore, Bandai Namco has released a new trailer that includes the newly implemented “Heat” battle system. This innovative system has been added based on feedback from the closed alpha tests and replaces the old “Heat Energy” mechanic. Playable characters will now have a “Heat Smash” command for use with the new system.
All Currently Announced Content Available in the July Closed Network Test
The closed network test in July will feature all currently announced content, including 16 characters (e.g., Bryan Fury) and five stages (e.g., Urban Square, Yakushima, Rebel Hangar, Sanctum, and Arena). The test will include online head-to-head ranked matches and cross-platform matchmaking.
Overall, Tekken 8 looks like a fun game with an interesting new Heat battle system. Although I’ve been engrossed in Street Fighter 6 lately, I’m excited to try Nina in Tekken 8.
Stay tuned for more updates about Tekken 8 and remember to sign up for the closed network test via the provided link.
