2K’s Social Media Accounts Have Been Hacked and Posted Offensive Material

Publisher 2K had suffered a sort of security breach yesterday when its multiple social media accounts were hacked. The hacker has published offensive posts on the official social media accounts of 2K Games that make the followers quite surprised.

The official social media account of 2K Games along with some other pages for the company’s games were hacked yesterday on 15th November. The first post on the page for 2K Games was published at 9:38 p.m. ET on November 15 and said “f**k NBA n***a.” The post after that simply read “n***er.” The post after that promised to “release something insane on 2K” if they got 10,000 likes. Thereafter, the series of posts were in continuation for a few more hours.

You can see some of the screenshots taken by the followers of 2K Games.

As mentioned above, similar posts were also published on some other pages related to the company. The hacker hacked the Facebook page for Borderlands and WWE 2K and manipulated the profile and cover pictures of these pages. For the WWE 2K page, the profile picture was changed into the logo for AEW Wrestling and the cover image became a picture of Professional Wrestler Chris Benoit.

As from the posts published on the pages, the hacker called himself as “nublom” who is still a mystery. There’s also been mention of a user called “aqua” who may have been involved as well. There may be more users involved, but that has not been confirmed.

After a short period of time, 2K Games posted a statement on their Twitter account for Sid Meier’s Civilization.

“We are aware that social media accounts across the 2K label have been compromised and offensive material is being posted that does not reflect the values of 2K or our partners,” 2K Games said. “We are actively working to fix this as soon as possible.”

Now, everything is restored to its original position. All the accounts of 2K Games have been restored and all the posts have been removed from the pages.
