Comic book movie nerds are currently experiencing a dark time. We went from being the underdogs to the dominant force in pop culture, but now things have taken a turn for the worse. “The Flash” suffered a disastrous theatrical run, “Blue Beetle” is expected to be a financial failure, and “Secret Invasion” left many of us devastated. Despite these setbacks, Marvel Studios, Sony Pictures, and Warner Bros. are pushing forward with seven comic book adaptations set for release in 2024, including “Madame Web,” “Venom 3,” “Captain America: Brave New World,” “Deadpool 3,” “Kraven the Hunter,” “Joker 2,” and “Thunderbolts.”
While the release slate for 2024 seems overcrowded, there is still one glimmer of hope – “Deadpool 3.” However, recent developments suggest that things might not be looking great for the Merc with a Mouth. 
The announcement of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s return as Deadpool and Wolverine respectively seemed like a dream come true, signaling a return to the golden age of comic book adaptations from 2016 to 2018. However, numerous strikes among the actors and screenwriters have thrown a wrench into the production process. It’s a challenging time for “Deadpool” and its dedicated fanbase.
As fans, we are left with two less-than-ideal scenarios. Marvel could choose to delay the release date of “Deadpool 3,” prolonging the development time but potentially risking the loss of momentum. Alternatively, the film could be rushed through production, resulting in a half-finished mess reminiscent of the infamous “Cats” movie. Both options present challenges for the success of “Deadpool 3.”
Deadpool 3 seems highly unrealistic. There are less than 9 months to go, they haven’t even finished shooting and are now on strike.
