2 Malware-Infected Photo Apps Removed by Google

The Search Engine giant, Google has officially removed two popular malware-infected Photo apps from its official Google Play Store. Both the apps carrying over 1.5 Million users which have been officially removed due to malware related issue. These apps have violated Google’s policies and for that reason, they have been removed from the Play Store by Google itself.

If we talk about the apps, Google has removed Funny Sweet Beauty Selfie Camera and Sun Pro Beauty Camera which were carrying Adware. These apps were illegally pushing adware to your mobile phones.

This adware was found by the Researchers at Cybersecurity Company named Wandera. Sun Pro app had been on the Play Store for two years which was originally released in the year 2017. This app was carrying around 1 Million downloads globally. While the other, Funny Sweet Beauty Selfie Camera app was with over 50,000 downloads on the Play Store.

With unwanted and illegally adware pushed to your Android devices, these apps could easily fetch the information and data stored on your device. They keep on sending push notifications of the advertisements. Upon clicking on to the ads, your data will be linked to their server and they can get to know everything about your smartphone and the data stored in it.

Apart from this, both of these apps were asking users for unwanted permissions when they install these apps on their respective smartphones. The apps were asking for the audio recording and microphone’s permissions from the users once they install the app on their devices.

When you give permissions to use such things of your smartphone, the same apps could record your voice calls which can be used by the hackers to spread them without your knowledge.

After discovering these malicious activities by these Android Photo apps, Wandera reported to Google about these apps last week. Today, Google has officially removed both the apps from its Play Store. Users will no longer able to download and install these apps from the Play Store.

If you are using any of these apps on your Android device, we would request you to kindly delete them to save your phone’s data from being hacked.
